Lawlessness and The End Times

lawlessness-cartoonFoundational scriptures; 2 Thessalonians 2:7-10 and 1 John 3:4

We see lawlessness everywhere we turn today. From people killing one another, killing police, police killing people who are not armed (and over reaction to fear) to our government officials writing laws that are illegal, bribes, security breeches, lying and doing what is unseemly throughout our country and now globally.

We really need Jesus to come back soon to straighten out the mess we have created.

Our society is being threatened with nuclear war and many in the intelligence communities believe America just might be nuked sooner rather than later.

Encountering The Risen Messiah

Today’s Bible Insight…

My wife Karlyn and I have been wanting to see the movie Risen really bad. Last night, Friday, we went to Redbox and rented it.

I felt like a kid going to the movies with my folks. Waited all day to watch it and just couldn’t wait to put in the DVD sit down with my tootsie pops and gummy drops and pop the corn for Karlyn and have a great time.

The moment arrives and the movie starts. As many may know the movie is a glimpse of events that happen through a Roman Centurion’s eyes post crucifixion. As the movie progresses I’m starting to think really? This is it. You see the movie spends a lot of time setting the stage concerning the 40 days that the Lord spent walking around Jerusalem showing Himself to the people and time He spent with the disciples. The movie highlights the Centurion’s frustration not being able to find The Lord’s body or locating Him at all.

At this point in the movie the soldier (Centurion) has a lead in a specific area. He and his men go into the town stealth, undercover and like all the times before no Jesus. All of a sudden the soldier looks to the top left at a balcony and sees Mary Magdalen who he interrogated days ago. He runs up the stairs, the tension is palatable, he draws his sword from its sheath pointing it towards the door opening and kicks open the door and to his utter shock and amazement he sees Yeshua, Jesus chatting and talking with the folks in the room. The soldier looks like he has just seen a ghost, the life is leaving his face as he starts to look pale, he stumbles backwards outside the front door. He staggers back into the room, sword hung down towards the floor, falls backward against the wall and slides slowly to the floor.

He watches and listens to Jesus as he softly talks and laughs with His friends. The soldier is caught in a time freeze where things move very slowly as the brain tries to process all the data that is being thrown at it, data that just doesn’t compute to our natural minds.

This moment in the movie was really moving because anyone who has had an encounter with Jesus The Messiah can relate to what this soldier was going through. Oh sure, we haven’t seen Jesus physically like he did, but anyone who has asked Jesus to be Their Lord and Savior has experienced some jolt to their system as The Lord opens their mind and heart to Him at that point of confession and repentance!

My Holy Spirit Jesus moment happened in the parking lot of a grocery store at 9 am PST. An event in time I will never forget! The enemy of our souls comes to me regularly and attempts to get me to doubt my salvation and he wants me to live in fear and condemnation. The Holy Spirit always reminds me about my encounter with Him, Jesus at age 10 and 18 in the parking lot of FedMart store in La Habra, CA USA IN 1975. The Lord marked in history the moment He came into my life and the very moment in time when I through faith accepted my Messiah Yeshua!

Just like the Centurion Roman Soldier had his moment, God was gracious to me and gave me my moment as well.

Allow me to encourage you. When Satan comes to you and he will, and tries to convince you that you’re not saved, remember back to your moment with God, that time he came into your life and gave you the free-gift of eternal life.

If you don’t have your moment with The Lord then ask Him into your life today! Read how below.

God bless you as you seek to serve Him and live out your faith!
Keep looking up because Jesus is coming back soon,

Is it Time to Freak Out?

freakoutIs it Time to Freak Out? No… Never!

For believers in Jesus Christ (Yeshua) it is never time to freak out. Why you ask. Because we serve a God that is BIGGER than the universe and He holds us in the center of His hand (John 10:28).

Bible Reading Today: John 10; John 14; Psalm 100; Luke 21 and Proverbs 3:5-8.

Back in the year 2000 there was only a couple of us sharing prophecy updates or connecting the headlines with what the Bible had to say about current events of that day. Of course we were pioneers in online prophecy and getting the word out. Over the last 6 years there has been an explosion of voices online now that are warning people. Some are Biblical in their presentation, others are not and these tend to peddle fear, sensationalism and speculation. There are so many voices out there I have considered leaving the space because I don’t want to add to the chatter. But every time I consider backing away someone contacts me or comments that their grateful I’m there providing a unique perspective, serving them and The Lord.

Our Work For God Has Value!

YourWordForTodayWe are not useless to God…

1 Corinthians 15:57-58

But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! So then, my dear friends, stand firm and steady. Keep busy always in your work for the Lord, since you know that nothing you do in the Lord's service is ever useless.

Bro Stef's Commentary:

So, the other day at our Life Group (Home Bible Study) I was talking with a friend and I said, "Ken, sometimes I feel that the ministry God asked me to do is not progressing as well as I had hoped. I wonder if I'm just waisting my time?"

Of course Ken tried the best he could to reassure me that that was not the case and that God sees what we do and He appreciates it. I went on to share with Ken that when I feel this way I almost always ask the Lord if it's time for me to throw in the towel? God almost always sends me a sign that what I'm doing He does appreciate and in fact, He is empowering me to continue. The sign almost always comes via an email from one of our subscribers who is expressing appreciation for our ministry.

So, should we stop doing good because we feel that our efforts are not as effective as we had hoped for? Should we follow our emotions that are telling us to throw in the towel? The answer is no!

There is an enemy out there that wants us all to give up and stop doing works of righteousness. The Devil does not want the work of God, through us to continue. He will tempt us, discourage us and wisper in our ear, "oh you know Stef if God was in this, your subscriber list would be in the millions by now. God's not with you, this is your imagination… You get the picture…

Well, today as I opened my email I received this scripture 1 Corinthians 15:57-58 and I almost fell out of my chair! Not less than 13 hours ago I was talking to Brother Ken about this and look what I received. Proof positive that God, through His Holy Spirit, does talk to us if we are listening. Let me repeat the scripture.

But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! So then, my dear friends, stand firm and steady. Keep busy always in your work for the Lord, since you know that nothing you do in the Lord's service is ever useless.

How I wish I could articulate the joy I felt as those words sank deep into my heart and soul. The Lord and I have gone through this over the last twelve years, many – many times before. He never grows frustrated with me. He never grows impatient and in fact, He's always understanding, loving and kind to me and encourages me to go on and keep doing what He called me to do. It doesn't matter if only 5 or 6,000 are listening. Twelve years ago God called me to partner with Him in this work and all that matters is I follow Him in simple trust, faith, hope, love and obedience.  What a God we serve!

I hope this word helps you as it did me.

Peace and Love in Jesus The Messiah,
Shalom v'ahava b'Yeshua Ha'Mashiach

But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. ~1Thessalonians 5:1-6
