“Seek The Lord” | September 1, 2016

Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Bro Stef Thoughts:

The word in this scripture that stands out to me is”rewarder.” The original word used is “renumerator.” The meaning is to calculate, add up, keep track of and giving rewards in keeping with his values. This word in Greek, misthapodotés, is only used in the Bible once and its in this scripture! We can thus make the assumption that God wants us to think this through very carefully.

There seems to be two prerequisites that must be observed for God to reward us:
1. Believe He is.
2. Seek Him with diligence.

Sometimes circumstances and God’s process of sending us help can frustrate us because God has a very unique reference by which He sees our lives unfold. He’s outside of time. So what is years for us is but nano seconds to The Lord.

You’ve heard it said, God is never late He is right on time. This process that God uses to assist and help us challenges our faith and trust in Him as it should because help doesn’t always come when we think it should. All one has to do is study the life of Job and this is very clear.

We are admonished in scripture to not allow ourselves to live in fear due to circumstances or what we see. I know from personal experience how difficult this can be… The Holy Spirit wants to teach us to believe in what The Word of God says and to anchor our hearts, no matter what comes, to God, His Word and to follow the Spirit of God’s leading through faith!

When we are stretched to our limits and we are feeling overwhelmed or maybe we feel God has forgotten us, that’s the moment to seek after The Lord with all our heart, drop to our knees and cry out to Him!

His promise is… “He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Isaiah 55:6; Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.

How God chooses to reward us for our diligence is His concern. Believe me, we will love His choice of reward for us.

The answer to our frustrations, fears and concerns can usually be found in the act of prayer and calling out to a loving and gracious God! When we feel panic and feel like we have to do something right away, sometimes the best thing we can do is pray and call upon Him for wisdom, guidance and help!

Allow God the opportunity to calm the raging storm in your heart, He wants to help you. He’s waiting for you to call upon Him!
